Their Fascinating Trip To Thailand Was An Unforgettable Adventure

Witness the dynamic and colorful beauty of Thailand through the lens of Reetwika. Along with her husband, she witnessed a kaleidoscope of colors, landscapes, and man-made marvels on a memorable 4 nights/5 days romantic trip to Thailand.

Thailand has been a destination that long fascinated me. It was the right time to strike this tropical paradise off my bucket-list. My husband and I wanted to go on a vacation and a romantic trip to Thailand, at that time, seemed like a really good option to get a well-deserved break.

Trip Cost: INR 37,000
Trip Duration: 4 nights 5 days
Name: Zulu Holidays
Inclusions: Transfers, accommodation, sightseeing, breakfast, taxes, and Alcazar show
Exclusions: Airfare, meals, and entry fee

While I was searching for a romantic trip to Thailand, I referred to the various social media platforms I follow for a good travel portal. When I came across TravelTriangle, I was pleased to see the competitive prices of their customizable packages. I booked a package from Zulu Holidays and finalized my trip details quickly.

Day 1: The glitz and glamour of Alcazar

We boarded our flight from Kolkata and reached the Bangkok airport at 4 am. The welcome was a bit slow and tiring as we had to wait for 4 hours to get our visa stamped. However, once we got our visa stamped and moved to the cab driver who was patiently waiting to take us to Pattaya, we were very happy. The car was comfortable and we completed the journey at a brisk pace.

We reached Golden Beach Hotel, Pattaya by 9 am and checked into our rooms. It took us a while to explain to them that we were doing a late check-in (since the room was booked for the night before).

The hotel was located in the heart of Pattaya- walking distance from the beach, local market, Central Mall and Hilton Hotel. The room given to us was large, clean, and provide a great view from the hotel balcony. For the buffet, they gave us two options- Indian and International breakfast. We opted for the latter as we liked the menu more on the international side compared to the Indian ones.

In the afternoon, we had tickets booked for the Alcazar cabaret show. We were asked to leave the room keys at the hotel while going out as they strictly do not allow keys to be carried outside.

Later in the evening, we took a walk to the Pattaya market and had dinner at a local restaurant. There were lots of Indian restaurants available, however, we preferred to eat Thai cuisine and enjoyed Chicken Satay dish for starters. After that, we returned to our hotel for an overnight stay.

Thailand Honeymoon Packages On TravelTriangle

Day 2: Aqua-blue at Coral Island

We had a half-day tour with lunch to Coral Island by speedboat. The cab picked us up from the hotel after breakfast and dropped us at the Pattaya beach. As the sea was very rough, the speedboat bumped into waters like a roller-coaster ride. We enjoyed the speedboat trip a lot.

They halted for 45 minutes for paid sea activities at an intermediate station. We did not try out any of them though but watched others enjoying the activities. The cost was too expensive compared to the allotted time.

Beaches in Pattaya

Post that, we were taken to the Coral island. The speedboat drive was very pleasurable and thrilling as before. The sea waves were very high and so the ride felt more adventurous. It was a bright sunny day with very high temperature. We did not opt for swimming as allotted time was too less to enjoy a bath. There was only a 40-minute break at the island along with a walking restriction beyond the designated sea shoreline.

The lunch was provided to us after we were back to Pattaya. It was a poor quality Indian buffet where we didn’t eat much.

In the evening, we went to Underwater World. It was our first experience seeing an underwater aquarium, so we enjoyed a lot. The Shark and Stingray feeding sites were like a lifetime experience. Afterwards, we returned to the hotel in Pattaya to relax for the night.

Day 3: Drive back to Bangkok

On the next morning of our romantic trip to Bangkok, we checked out from the hotel in Pattaya by 10 am. The road from Pattaya to Bangkok was a well-maintained highway, so the journey was smooth.

After arriving in Bangkok, we first went for a sightseeing tour of the city. We began with a visit to the Golden Buddha temple, Marble Buddha temple and Gems Gallery. The temples were awesome and a must visit place in Thailand. The gold artwork at the temples is worth mentioning. By the time we checked into the Grand Alpine Hotel, it was already evening. The traffic condition was really bad in Bangkok and it took us hours to reach a stone’s throw distance during peak hours.

The hotel was located little inside a narrow lane making parking a big challenge. The hotel room was big, but it had no windows. We just had 15 minutes in-hand to freshen up as we had to move for Chao Phraya Dinner Cruise next. I must say that the pickup times were maintained very punctually by the cab drivers throughout our romantic trip to Thailand.

The cab driver dropped us at River City Mall from where the cruise was scheduled to start. It rained that evening which created little mess for the onboarding formalities. But overall, the cruise was a fantastic experience. Our ticket was booked on the non-AC upper deck with Indian Buffet.

The journey time was around 2 hours along the Chao Phraya river during which we experienced the nightlife of Bangkok and some of the architectural wonders like Wat Arun, Royal Palace etc along the river shore. After deboarding, we reached back to the hotel by 11.30pm sans the traffic jam.

Day 4: The wonders of Safari World

The last day of our romantic trip to Thailand had arrived. We began the day with breakfast and quickly got ready for a day tour of Safari World. We didn’t really like the shows too much except the Orangutan show.

After that, we moved on to the interesting part ie- the jungle safari (which only lasted 30 minutes). There were lots of animals in the safari like zebra, giraffe, deer, tigers, lions, bears, birds etc. We would have preferred a few more hours witnessing such beautiful creatures instead of watching animal shows.

We came back to the hotel around 7 pm and in a few hours, we checked out from the hotel as our return flight was scheduled for 4 am from the Bangkok airport.

From the first underwater experience in Pattaya, the pristine beaches of Coral Island, glamorous Alcazar to the adventurous Safari World, Thailand was one experience my husband and I will never forget.

We loved the overall experience with TravelTriangle and Zulu Holidays, especially the internal coordination for our romantic trip to Thailand. We were not carrying mobiles and hence connectivity could have been a challenge. But we never got a feel that unavailability of phone/Whatsapp could be an issue in the entire trip. It was well managed by all of them.

High points:

  • The tour cost provided by Zulu Holidays was very cost effective compared to other quotes received.
  • Our first underwater experience at Pattaya was incredible.
  • Bangkok offers an awesome dinner cruise on Chao Phraya River- you have options for Indian and International Buffet. A must not miss for all.

Low points:

  • Our safari jeep did not stop for photos during the wildlife safari whereas the other did. We are photo freaks and so no stopping meant it was a waste of time and money for us.
  • The breakfast menu wasn’t good at the hotels given to us.
  • Bangkok traffic jam is extremely mismanaged. It is highly frustrating as a traveler as it took us 4 hours to reach 3km during evening hours after a slight spell of rain.

Catch on to the winds and change and go out on new romantic adventures. Book your Thailand romantic package and go on a vacation unlike any other before!

  • Day 1: A scenic drive to Pattaya

Bangkok to Pattaya

We took our flight from New Delhi, and landed early morning in Bangkok. Upon our arrival, the driver was present to receive and take us to Pattaya. We arrived in Pattaya at noon, and checked into Grand Bella Hotel. I was impressed with the infrastructure of the highways in Thailand as a distance of 150 km covered in mere 90-minutes.

Pattaya welcomed us with warm sunshine and a light breeze. After taking a comfortable afternoon nap, we had a late lunch and then wandered out to explore the local market for the evening. Later on, we returned to the hotel and called it a night.

  • Day 2: Speedboat to Coral Island

Spending the day at Coral Island

The next morning, we woke up and had a fulfilling breakfast. At 10 am, we headed towards the Jomtien Beach to catch our speedboat to Coral Island. My children found the speedboat ride thrilling and adventurous. As the boat anchored at the pier at Coral Island, we got a first glimpse of pristine white beaches.

The most beautiful beach I had ever seen, stood in front of my eyes. The island is a beautiful amalgamation of the colors blue, white, and green in their richest form to represent the water, the beach, and the hills respectively. We spent the day at the island with an included lunch in our package. We returned back from Coral Island at 5 pm and proceeded back to the hotel for the night.

  • Day 3: The green roots of Nong Nuch

Family selfie in Nong Nuch

The next day after breakfast, we got ready for our day trip to Nong Nuch village near Pattaya. A brilliant effort made by the Thai people to preserve and flourish their flora and fauna. We arrived at Nong Nuch at 11 am, and started with exploring the Botanical Garden.

After seeing the variety of palm trees, we proceeded to catch a glimpse of beautiful animals in the zoo. Our day in Nong Nuch ended with a cultural performance at 3 pm. Later on, we arrived back at the hotel at 7 pm and rested for the night.

Bangkok: A magical dinner cruise and a safari ride!

  • Day 4: Temple run in Bangkok

Temple of Reclining Buddha

Post breakfast, we checked out of the hotel and proceeded back to Bangkok. We arrived in Bangkok at noon and checked into the Kingston Suite. Being the city of temples, we took a tour to the famous temples of Buddha.

We covered the beautifully constructed and divine temples like Wat Pho, Wat Phra, and Wat Arun that foray into the Buddhist culture in Thailand. We ended our day by returning to the hotel in the evening at 6 pm.

  • Day 5 & 6: A thrilling safari and a magical dinner!

Elephant show in Safari World

The day began on this family trip to Thailand, with a trip to Safari World. We left the hotel at 10 am and arrived at Safari World. It was a memorable moment for my family to enjoy a ride out into mother nature and seeing different animal species.

The final day in Bangkok began with a delicious breakfast followed by a visit to the Siam Ocean World. An unreal collection/aquarium of deep sea underwater animals that constitute our seas, made the location one of the key places to visit in Thailand. In the afternoon, we saw genius mastery at a 3D art museum in Bangkok. My kids enjoyed a lot over there as they loved getting their pictures clicked.

Chao phraya river cruise

We returned to the hotel at 4 pm in the afternoon and got ready to wind up the family trip to Thailand with a magnificent Chao Phraya river boat cruise for dinner. The dinner cruise was fantastic, charming, and fulfilling. It gave us a beautiful view of the glimmering lights of Bangkok from few of the best vantage points in town. We got off the cruise at 10 pm at night and returned to the hotel for the night.

Thank you for the memories, Thailand!

having fun with penguins in Pattaya

The next morning, we woke up and checked out of the hotel early morning at 8 am. As I looked back on our family trip to Thailand, while slowly hurdling past the security gates at the Bangkok airport, I realized how perfectly everything worked out. A beautiful vacation enjoyed by my family, that gave us lovely bouts of culture and natural beauty.

3D art museum in Bangkok

High Points:

  • Visiting the 3D museum and Coral Island with my family.

Low Points:

  • Hotel service was great, but the quality and size of rooms in Pattaya could’ve been better.

One for the millennials, this is the best cafe in Thailand as far as fresh organic produce is concerned. Understanding their clientele, the place has their own greenhouse where they grow seven distinct varieties of lettuce that is used for the delicious salads that are the specialty here. Besides that, vegan sandwiches, wraps and rolls are also quite delicious here, and the place is great for an afternoon lunch here. Try the mango chicken salsa!

Make The Most Of Your Honeymoon In Phuket And Krabi With These Best Experiences!

Taking a break from the monotony of life was on my mind for a very long time and we were yet to plan our honeymoon as well. Being a nature lover, I have explored many places in India but was yearning to go on an international trip which is when, our honeymoon in Phuket came to pass.

The occasion couldn’t have been better and I couldn’t have asked for more than traveling with my better half. While we were still planning to explore a beach destination on our honeymoon, Thailand struck our minds. And luckily, one of my friends Sindhuja recommended to plan a trip with TravelTriangle, and we couldn’t thank her enough for advising us to do so.

Couple Sightseeing in Phuket

Tiger Kingdom in Phuket

It was a great feeling to explore such lesser known places with my better half. Our first day in Phuket was a little laid-back as we explored the Tiger Kingdom, walked along the shoreline of Patong beach, and wrapped the day by indulging in little shopping at the Jungceylon Shopping Mall.

Day 2: Tour de Phi Phi Island

We finished our breakfast the next day and geared up for the tour of Phi Phi Islands. The weather was awesome and we were charmed by the monsoons in Phi Phi Island. We cruised the crystal clear waters of Phi Phi Islands which was a tremendous experience indeed. Later on, it was time to dive in and enjoy every bit of snorkeling as well.

Though it is not mandatory to pay the fees, for those who’ve not included snorkeling in their package can enjoy snorkeling by paying about 400 THB per person. We enjoyed every bit of this island which treated us to the most surreal view of the beach, turquoise waters, and the best snorkeling experience.

Day 3: Tour de James Bond Island

This day was dedicated for the tour of James Bond Island. Post finishing the breakfast at the hotel, we boarded the long-tailed boat and embarked on our tour to explore the paradisiacal James Bond Island. The ride was quite adventurous as it was also raining very heavily.

We relished a sumptuous lunch at the Muslim Fishing Village which is a great place to be explored. Offering peaceful environs, one can just walk endlessly through the fishing village. Later we also experienced the best of kayaking on James Bond Island which is a must for all the honeymooners.

Day 4: Hello Krabi!

On the fourth day, we were transferred to the island of Krabi via a ferry. The whole journey was too slow and tiring. We reached our destination late in afternoon and checked in at the Ibis Styles hotel which is a lovely place to stay indeed.

We rested up for a while and in the later half of the day, we strolled around the beaches of Ao-nang, and also enjoyed a bit of street shopping which was followed by a late dinner.

Day 5: Island Hopping At Its Best

Island hopping is much famed in Krabi and we had saved the best experience for the last day. With a lot of excitement, we started our fifth day for island hopping across the four islands of Chicken Island, Tub island, Poda Island, and Penang Island.

All the islands were mesmerizing and so thrilling. We were served a delicious lunch at the Poda Island which is a very scenic place. Later in the day, we also enjoyed a bit of snorkeling post which, we went back to the hotel due to heavy rains. It was indeed a lovely experience.

Day 6: Bidding Adieu To Krabi

From the weather to the Tiger Kingdom, and from snorkeling to island hopping, we had created some of the best memories forever. We were a bit skeptical in the beginning but at the end of our vacation, we were really happy to be bidding adieu to such an incredible paradise with a bag full of memories.

  • Exploring the Tiger Kingdom
  • Cruising on the crystal clear waters of Andaman Sea on a long-tailed boat
  • Our visit to the Krabi island
  • Relishing every bit of the seafood
  • Exploring the mangrove forests near Phang Nga Bay

Island hopping in Krabi on honeymoon

  • The only scenario where we stumbled a little was at Phuket. Our experience with APK Resort was not as expected.
  • Also, we missed out on paragliding as it had been temporarily shut down due to few accidents in the recent past.

This was our first experience with TravelTriangle and it was really fantastic. We’d like to appreciate the efforts of TravelTriangle as well as their agent – Trip Dost for arranging such a wonderful honeymoon in Phuket that will be cherished by us forever. If I had to rate, would give 5/5 for our overall experience with TravelTriangle.

  • Pack more of beach wear as Phuket and Krabi are both beach destinations and you’d be needing more pair of clothes to change.
  • Always remember to exchange your currency in India itself before flying down to Phuket as the exchange rates are higher in Phuket and Krabi.
  • Try to enjoy snorkeling in Krabi as it is for free. It is a paid activity in Phi Phi Island.
  • The monsoon season prevails from the months of September to November which may not be ideal but a indeed a great season to explore Phuket and Krabi. It is a different experience in itself.
  • National Park charges are mandatory in most of the places in Thailand. You can also chose not to pay in case you are not willing to explore any particular area or zones.
  • Do not worry in case hotels ask you for a security deposit of 1000 THB. It will be refunded while you’re checking out of the hotel.
